Provider News - Significant Provider Changes (August 2005)

New Agreements

University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center

Effective July 1, 2005 we have a direct Participating System Agreement with the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center.

The Medical Center is a 420-bed tertiary care facility with approximately 725 employed participating providers that include MDs, DOs, PhDs and a host of ancillary care professionals.

The contract is extended to Payors and Clients that have a minimum ten percent (10%) differential in coinsurance between in-network and out-of-network benefit financial incentives; with an identification card that identifies ppoNEXT.

The Medical Center and the employed participating providers participate in the National Access and Acces (workers' compensation) networks.

Union Hospital Incorporated

Effective June 15, 2005 we have added Union Hospital Incorporated. The System consists of the following facilities and professionals:

  • Union Hospital - A 343-bed acute care facility located in Terre Haute, Indiana. There are two (2) acute care facilities in Terre Haute. We now contract with both of them.
  • West Central Community Hospital (formerly Vermillion County Hospital) a 56-bed acute care facility in Clinton, Indiana. This is the only hospital in the town of Clinton.
  • Wabash Valley Surgery Center
  • Union Hospital Outpatient Therapy
  • Clara Fairbanks Center For Women
  • Union Hospital Cardiac Rehab
  • Union Hospital Family Medicine North
  • Union Hospital Family Medicine South
  • Union Hospital Family Medicine East
  • Union Hospital Family Medicine West
  • West Central Family Medicine
  • Cork Medical Center
  • Family Practice Clinic
  • 97 employed MDs, DOs, CRNAs, FNPs, PAs and PhDs
The Union Hospital system participates in the National Access and Acces (workers' compensation) networks. The contract is extended to National Access as well as National Access Plus Payors and Clients.

Caromont Health System - Gastonia, North Carolina
Gaston Memorial Hospital
Gaston Ambulatory Surgery Center
Gaston Memorial Home Health Services

Gastonia is effectively a suburb of Charlotte, North Carolina. Alternatives to Caromont Health include the Carolinas Medical Center Hospital System (3 hospitals), the Presbyterian Hospital System (2 hospitals), CMC University Hospital and Lake Norman Medical Center.

The date of termination is September 30, 2005.
